I've got no words, because Mr. Saab's work is just that amazing. The dresses (I mean, every single one of them) were out-of-this world beautiful. For approximately 15 minutes, I could have sworn I was transported to this faerie land where all my fashion fantasies became real, only to realize that I have only been sitting on my red, rotating chair the whole time after the show ended. I can't imagine if I was there in person; I would have jumped like a madwoman and pooped in my pants.
Elie Saab is widely known for the usage of bold brocades and feminine colours in creating dresses that radiate the auras of surrealism (due to their absolute beauty), extra-terrestrial (in the best way possible) and enchanting enticement. His dresses are proof that fantasies do come true, because his dresses are those that make the wearer feel like a princess freshly stepped out of a fairy tale. They are so gorgeous in every kind of way. It's no secret that I adore Elie Saab so much; he has become my ultimate favorite haute couture designer.
Paris Fashion Week just ended recently, and of course, I will not miss the chance to post about this brilliant Elie Saab show. I won't lie - this show is the only show that affected me this much. This show had held my breath, widened my eyes, and made my mouth form an O more than once. Yes, the dresses surprised me that much. If only things can materialize from thin air.
Anyways, here goes the pictures. Reviews on the bottom of the pictures will be very brief, because you know what? You won't need words to convince you of the dress's magnificence. Prepare for an eyegasm, peeps.
One last warning: the word beautiful will be repeated without mercy, my friend.
Now get what I'm saying? Feel your heart stopping already?
Floral patterns and baby hues are two of my most favorite elements to put on a dress. Beautiful.
This one is so princess-like, with the playful silvery light-blue gems and ombre. I think Aurora from Sleeping Beauty will suit this dress a lot. Hey, why don't we petition for Elie Saab to design new Disney Princesses' dresses?
Elsa's dress had just came to reality, my friends. Mr. Saab surely has a secret admiration to Disney princesses. THE OMBRE THOUGH. Shades of blue have always been my undoing.
Not my favorite from the show, mainly due to the use of satin. The peach color is worth seeing, though.
Baby blue is definitely the bomb. The brocades added sophistication and calm claimer to everyone's attention. I'd prefer if the sleeves were shorter though.
Aside from long gowns, Elie also created a range of short dresses with only one style (like one shown in the picture above) but different colours and patterns. For instance, the one on top features champagne and blue, with intricate beads embedded on the dress. One other chose to be decorated with floral patterns similar to those on the dress which was shown at the very top of the pictures. Nevertheless, all of them are beautiful. Absolutely the dress I want the most from the show.
Another short dress with a similar style like the latter, only differing from the collar and the patterns. This one is similar to the dress shown on this blog's third picture. I'm sorry I'm being super repetitive.
WOWZA this is gorgeously beautiful. I've got no words, you guys can see the beauty of the dress by yourselves.
Dem glitter; it sparkles more radiantly than Edward Cullen. The neckline is bee-yoo-tee-fool.
One sparkly hell of a gradient. The red hues are gorgeous.
Loving him was RED ;)
Apologies for the Taylor Swift lyrics. Tehee.
Time to talk conservative! But not too conservative, though. Even those adornments can't hide dem legs ;)
I love the addition of the embellished "overshirt" though.
Who's in love with red-ombre chiffon dresses? This girl. Damn, that dress looks breezy, super comfy.
Those embellishments have made me dropped dead. Although I am curious on what's underneath the fur scarf (and is the fur faux?). Loving the flowy A-line <3
Champagne colours for the win! And the belt :)
Brown colour gradient for the flowy, chiffon dress. I can bet underneath the fur is the dress closely similar to the red ombre chiffon dress.
To close the show; as always; the wedding dress of the season was paraded. Take a closer look and you'll instantly feel that fairy-tale princess vibe. Isn't it beautiful? I WANT THIS FOR MY WEDDING DRESS, PERIOD.
There were much more dressed showcased at the show, so I recommend you to watch the full video by checking out this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zKs1ZZZYD0
You wouldn't regret looking at those fine dresses. Well, maybe you will watching the vid will make you desire the dress more. Watch with your own concern, then.
I could have sworn that this fashion show is by far the best I have ever seen in a very, very long time. Even with a backdrop that was solely adorned with chandeliers and not as creative as other fashion show settings (Chanel with the supermarket, Louis Vuitton with an abandoned station and carousel, etc), it turned out to be classically pleasing to the eye, and really brought out that elegant, sophisticated vibe of a ballroom. Also, it complimented the already magical experience. It was really pleasant to watch.
P.S: Now count the number of times I've said beautiful. Bahahha.
